You're doing OK, even well with your
business. But today, that description seems to include
just keeping the doors open.
Does using
permission-based, targeted and trackable advertising
to increase your business sound attractive to
you?
You didn't decide to be a business owner
just to keep the bills paid. You did it to get
ahead. Make a good life for you and your family.
You and I both do what it takes to make that happen.
You know that you need an 'Internet
Presence'
That's where people look for information
nowadays. When's the last time you used the Yellow
Pages?
But what does
that mean for your marketing efforts? Let me ask you a
couple of questions about what you have right now.
- Do you have a web site and if you
do, why? What do you want it to do?
- Does your web site sell
your product, or just give your customers information
about your offerings and location?
- How do your customers find your
web site?
- Does your site show up in search
engine results when you or your customers try to
find information about you or related businesses in
your area?
- Do you use your site to keep in
touch with your customers?
- Does your website or
permission-based follow-up make them aware of special
offers and new inventory and services?
My name is Clyde Cathcart and I help
business owners with these questions and more.
I grew up in SE Michigan. The
suburbs of Detroit. I went from Michigan to Florida to
Pittsburgh to Michigan through a series of job changes.
Although there aren't any good places to be a college educated
middle aged male in search of a job right now, SE Michigan is a
particulary bad place to be. So I did what any idiot
would do. I stayed. And I made it
work.
I started out in Internet marketing after
spending many years in sales. I
got a BS in Marketing while selling
cars and motorcycles to the public. Then I spent a lot of
time selling money to homeowners and managing the sales of
health care services to physicians. In fact, I've
spent most of my adult life learning and executing the art of
matching solutions to problems.
Circumstances (read
life) forced me to earn a living rather than
get another job. So I did. I learned how to make a
living selling stuff on the Internet.
Don't get me wrong. I'm no
guru. I work at it daily, and I'm just not interested in
selling products to other Internet marketing wannabes. I
bought plenty of that stuff. But some of it is good if
you make the effort. I made the effort because I had
to.
But I work best with people. Same
as you. I enjoy helping others get what they need.
I rediscovered this quite by accident.
I was looking under the hood of Cyndi's
Aztec in the parking lot of the apartment complex we live
in. She had a leaking water pump. A neighbor (Tyler
King) who I hadn't met before came over to say hi and take a
look. Tyler has a mobile truck repair business
he was just getting going and a website he had built
himself. Now, it was evident to us both that the Aztec
needed a new water pump. After looking at Tyler's web
site, it was also evident that he needed help. So I
offered to build Tyler a new web site if he would install the
new water pump in the parking lot.
The results?
My girlfriend got her Aztec fixed and
Tyler got a new web site giving him a lot more business than he
ever had before. And we've gone on to have a great
relationship.
Well, that worked. I thought
that, just maybe, I could use all this education I bought to
help other local businesses stay and prosper. Turns out I
was right.
Alright, enough about me. Let's
talk about you.
You're aware that you need a
web presence but just don't have the time or inclination to
market it effectively.
You could learn all of this stuff and go
ahead and build a huge Internet based
business.
In fact, I'll
give you links to the best stuff I know. They are
affiliate links. I'll make money. You'll have
homework.
I've had the time to learn it. You
don't. You can sign up for my mailing list and
use a very specific command to read all about
it.
In the meantime I want what you
sell. Call me selfish, but I want the option of buying
from you.
That's why I offer myself to a few
select business owners. I make myself
available marketing your business on-line so that you have
more time to do what you need to be doing...running your
business.
I happen to like buying from well run
businesses. It makes life easier.
And yes, I am selective in who I work
with. Its' a business relationship. You won't work
with every Tom, Dick and Harry coming through your door.
Neither will I.
And contrary to what you may hear from
the get-rich-quick scammers, it takes time and effort to
effectively market your business on the Internet. But
they are right about one thing. The rewards are great
when done right.
Internet marketing isn't rocket
science. Neither is preparing a good meal or filling a
cavity in a tooth. I don't want to learn how to run a
restaurant or be a dentist. But all three will provide
gratification when done well.
What I will do is to help you with
your marketing plan. You now get business from many
different avenues. Word-of-Mouth, newspaper, coupons,
circulars, signage, etc. Some of it might be cost
effective. Most of it probably isn't. How does
permission-based, targeted and trackable communication sound to
your business?
Let me help you be sure that people who
need what you have can find what you
have. I need 15 minutes of your time to see if
I can help you. Do you have 15 minutes? If you do,
call me at (810) 771-7356 or at (810) 515-0424 to set an
appointment. And be sure to sign up for valuable
updates on the mailing list at the top right of this
page.
